Chinese coal imports plunged in December

According to the latest data published by the General Administration of Customs, China imported just 10.2m tonnes of coal in December, down 46.6% m-o-m and down 55% y-o-y. This is mostly due to the coal import restrictions imposed by the Central Government.

China imported 280.8m tonnes of coal in 2018, up 9.6m tonnes or 3.5% y-o-y.
