Vietnamese coal imports increased in October

Vietnamese coal imports increased to 2.2m tonnes in October, up 8.5% m-o-m and up 72.5% y-o-y. Indonesian deliveries jumped to 940KT, up 13.6% m-o-m and up 86.6% y-o-y. Australian supplies also increased last month to 810KT,up 36.5% m-o-m and up 255.9% y-o-y. On the other hand, imports from Russia plunged to 150KT, down 39.9% m-o-m and down 28.1% y-o-y.

Vietnamese coal imports jumped to 17.7m tonnes over the first 10 months of the year, up 6m tonnes or 51.7% y-o-y. Imports from Indonesia jumped to 8.9m tonnes, up 4.1m tonnes or 84.5% y-o-y. Australian deliveries increased to 4.5m tonnes, up 1.6m tonnes or 54.4% y-o-y. Russian supplies increased to 2.1m tonnes, up 310KT or 17.5% y-o-y.
