Shenhua coal output declined in August, down 5.7% y-o-y.

Shenhua coal production declined to the lowest level since June last year at 23.2m tonnes in August, down 0.4% m-o-m and down 5.7% y-o-y. This is the second month in a row that Shenhua coal output declined y-o-y. Despite the deep in output in July and August, Shenhua coal production increased to 198.2m tonnes over the first 8 months of the year, up 10.3m tonnes or 5.5% y-o-y.

Shenhua’s coal sales increased to 38.2m tonnes, up 11% m-o-m and up 11.4% y-o-y. This takes coal sales to 293.1m tonnes over the Jan.-August period, up 41.1m tonnes or 16.3% y-o-y.
