Thailand’s power generation remained stable in H117

Thailand’s power generation totalled 17.2TWh in June, down 3.8% m-o-m but still was 2.9% higher y-o-y. Coal-fired generation totalled 3.3TWh, down 2.1% m-o-m but still was 9.4% higher y-o-y. Gas-fired generation declined to 10.1TWh, down 5.6% m-o-m and down 5.8% y-o-y. Total renewable generation totalled 1.6TWh, down 7.2% m-o-m but still was 19% higher y-o-y. Power imports increased to 2.2TWh during the month, up 2.6% m-o-m and up 31.1% y-o-y.

Thailand’s power generation remained stable at 100.4TWh in H117, down by just 0.1% y-o-y. Coal -fired generation declined to 18.5TWh, down 0.8% y-o-y. Gas-fired generation declined to 60.3TWh, down 6.9% y-o-y. On the other hand, renewable generation increased to 10.1TWh, up 23.4% y-o-y. Electricity imports also increased to 11.4TWh, up 32.3% y-o-y.
