China Coal Energy output increased in July

China’s second largest coal miner, China Coal Energy, produced 6.8m tonnes in July, up 9.6% m-o-m and up 1.8% y-o-y. Despite that, coal output declined to 45.7m tonnes over the Jan.-July period, down 1.4m tonnes or 3% y-o-y.

China Coal Energy sold 12.2m tonnes of commercial coal in July, down 4.6% m-o-m but this still was 11.3% higher y-o-y. Coal sales declined to 73.6m tonnes over the first 7 months of the year, down 2.6m tonnes or 3.4% y-o-y.
