DATA: Russian power generation ad coal output increase in July

Russian power generation increased to 79.3TWh in July, up 2.9% m-o-m and up 0.4% y-o-y. This takes the power output to 618TWh over the first 7 months of the year, up 1% y-o-y.

Coal production increased to 33.3TWh in July, up 3.6% m-o-m and up 9.3% y-o-y. Coal output increased to 230.9m tonnes over the Jan.-July period, up 14.3m tonnes or 6.6% y-o-y.

Russian coal exports totalled 15.9m tonnes, down 0.9% m-o-m but still was 11.6% higher y-o-y. Russia exported 106.3m tonnes of coal over the first 7 months of the year, up 12.6m tonnes or 13.5% y-o-y.
