Coal production at major Chinese provinces increased in June

Coal production per major province shows increase in output at all the big four coal producing provinces. Inner Mongolian coal production increased to 79.4m tonnes, up 0.1% m-o-m and up 19.2% y-o-y. Shanxi coal output increased to 75m tonnes, up 1.6% m-o-m and up 6.7% y-o-y. Shaanxi coal production increased to 49.2m tonnes, up 7.6% m-o-m and up 20.1% y-o-y. Shandong coal production also increased to 11.1m tonnes, up 3% m-o-m and up 12.4% y-o-y.

Inner Mongolian coal production increased to 460m tonnes in H117, up 77m tonnes or 20.1% y-o-y. Shanxi coal production increased to 416.4m tonnes, up 22.4m tonnes or 5.7% y-o-y. Shaanxi coal production increased to 245.5m tonnes, up 46m tonnes or 23% y-o-y. On the other hand, capacity reductions in Shandong led to a decrease in coal production to 61.7m tonnes, down 5.5m tonnes or 8.1% y-o-y.
