Italian renewable generation reached 8.4TWh in May, up 18.8% m-o-m but still was 5.8% lower y-o-y. This includes hydro-generation, which reached 4TWh, up 32.9% m-o-m but still was 8.9% lower y-o-y. Solar generation increased to 3.1TWh, up 15.8% m-o-m and up 11.5% y-o-y. On the other hand, wind generation declined to 0.8TWh, down 11% m-o-m and down 34.9% y-o-y.
Renewable generation declined to 34.1TWh over the Jan.-May period, down 7.5% y-o-y. This is mostly due to fall in hydro generation to 14.7TWh, down 11.6% y-o-y. Wind generation also declined to 6.1TWh, down 20.8% y-o-y. On the other hand, solar generation increased to 10.8TWh, up 8.2% y-o-y.
