China Coal Energy production down by 3.5% y-o-y over the Jan.-May period

China’s second largest coal producer, China Coal Energy, produced 6.8m tonnes in May, up 13.2% m-o-m and up 2.9% y-o-y. Despite that coal output declined to 32.6m tonnes over the Jan.-May period, down 1.2m tonnes or 3.5% y-o-y.

Coal sales increased to 11.4m tonnes in May, up 17.6% m-o-m and up 5% y-o-y. However, coal sales declined to 48.7m tonnes over the first 5 months of the eyar, down 3.3m tonnes or 6.3% y-o-y.
