Chinese coal production increased to 298Mt in May, up 12.1% y-o-y

Chinese coal production increased to 297.8m tonnes in May, up 1.1% m-o-m and up 12.1% y-o-y. This is the highest annual increase since September 2015, when coal output increased by 8.2% y-o-y to 315.8m tonnes. Chinese coal production increased to nearly 1.4Bn tonnes over the Jan.-May period, up 55.8m tonnes or 4.2% y-o-y.
